Here, you’ll find info about a range of frequently asked questions we get about the Customer Login area of the SMB website.

  • You can log in by visiting www.smb.nz/login and entering your email address and password. If it's your first time, you'll need to activate your account first. See below for instructions on how to do this.

  • We’re upgrading our entire system to provide a smoother, more reliable experience for our customers. The new Customer Login is part of this upgrade and is designed to be faster, more secure, and easier to use.

    If you haven’t been migrated to the new system yet, you can still log into the old Customer Login here. From there, you can apply for a top-up (if eligible), view your account information, and access past statements as usual.

  • You will receive emails from us that include all the exciting new information and updates on what's happening. Once your account is available in the new system, you will be sent an activation email. 

  • Don't worry - click this link to get access to your current SMB account. If you are unable to apply, we will notify you. Contact us if you have any questions. If you are eligible, we will let you know when you can apply.

  • If you’re a new user, and your new account is available, you should have received an activation email with a link to set your password. Click the link, follow the prompts, and you’ll be able to log in. If you didn't receive your email, check your spam folder or contact us on 03 288….

  • Click on “Forgot Password?" on the login page and follow the instructions. We’ll send you a reset password link to the email address you have registered. 

    I didn't receive my activation or reset email. What should I do?

    Please check your spam or junk folder first. If you still can't find it, ensure you are checking the correct email account. Still having trouble? Contact our support team at 03 288 2562.

  • You can update some personal details via the Customer Login - click on the “Personal Details” icon and send us a request. One of our agents will be in touch once we receive the request to verify the new information.

  • The Customer Login area allows you to:

    • View your account details

    • See if you’re eligible to refinance

    • View your upcoming repayments

    • Access your account statements

    • Contact our team via our “Help” section to

      • Make a complaint 

      • Request to change an upcoming payment

      • Apply for Hardship

  • Yes, we use industry-standard encryption and security protocols to ensure your data is protected.

  • Yes, the Customer Login is mobile-friendly and can be accessed through your phone's web browser.
